[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Council of the Town of Glocester 12-7-2017, effective 12-7-2017. Amendments noted where applicable.]
There is hereby created by the Town Council, pursuant to Town Charter § C13-10, the position of Veterans Advisor for the Town of Glocester. This position shall be filled by a resident with experience in veterans affairs and shall be appointed by the Town Council. The Veterans Advisor position shall be a volunteer position.
The purpose of said position is to assist our veterans with obtaining the information needed in their daily lives to insure their needs are met.
The duties of the Veterans Advisor shall be to obtain and maintain current information regarding veterans rights and available benefits. The Advisor shall be a resource to Glocester's veterans by providing information from state and federal veterans agencies.
The appointed term is concurrent with the term of the Town Council.
This chapter shall be effective upon passage.
