§ 270-1 Forest carbon, carbon credit, or carbon cap-and-trade programs.

The Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin hereby bans any further consideration or implementation of any forest carbon, carbon offset, or carbon cap-and-trade program in any of the Tribal forests or forest lands, including the recent proposals involving Finite Carbon and BP Petroleum.

§ 270-2 Ban on similar programs.

The Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin hereby further bans consideration or implementation of any similar program that would require idling or encumbering any of the Tribal forests or forest lands.

§ 270-3 Tribal forests or forest lands.

The Menominee Tribal Legislature shall not make any attempt, whether by ordinance, resolution, or other means, to undertake any forest carbon, carbon offset, or carbon cap-and-trade program in any of the Tribal forests or forest lands, or to otherwise undertake any similar program that would idle or encumber the Tribal forests or forest lands.
