There may be in the Township a Senior Administrative Assistant who shall be appointed by the Township Committee and who shall hold office for the term at the pleasure of the Township Committee.

The duties of the Senior Administrative Assistant shall be:
A.
To assist the Township Clerk, Zoning Officer, Construction Code Official, Tax Collector, and Registrar of Vital Statistics in the clerical, administrative and other routine duties of their offices.

B.
To perform all other duties which now are or hereafter may be imposed or required by any law of the State of New Jersey or any ordinance of the Township.
C.
To perform such other duties as may from time to time be prescribed by the Township Committee.
The Senior Administrative Assistant shall maintain his or her office in the Township Municipal Building or such other place or places as may be designated by the Township Committee, which office shall be open to the public for transaction of Township matters during such hours as may be set by the Township Committee.
The Township Committee may, as the need arises, designate by resolution one or more administrative assistants who shall work for and in conjunction with the Senior Administrative Assistant in the performance of the Senior Administrative Assistant's duties. Such administrative assistants may be employed on a full- or part-time basis to assist the Senior Administrative Assistant in the performance of a specific duty or in the general performance of the various duties assigned to the Senior Administrative Assistant.

The compensation of the Senior Administrative Assistant and of such administrative assistants as may be designated in this article shall be determined in the annual salary ordinance or resolution by the Mayor and Township Committee.
