Section 505.180 Safety And Access Requirements.

A. Performance Requirement, As Contained In Section 8 Regulations. The dwelling unit shall be usable and capable of being maintained without unauthorized use of other private properties, and the building shall provide an alternate means of egress in case of fire.

B. Minimum Requirements. Exterior doors and windows shall be lockable on the inside.

C. Access And Egress Requirements.

1. Access to the dwelling unit must not be through other dwelling units.

2. An alternate means of egress (leaving the dwelling unit) in case of fire shall be provided, such as fire stairs or sufficiently large and openable windows.
