A.
Creation of Office of Code Administration. There is hereby created by the West Rockhill Township Board of Supervisors an office of the Township of West Rockhill to be known as the "Office of Code Administration" (at times in this Code referred to as "Code Official" or "Fire Code Official"). The official or officials appointed thereto by the Board of Supervisors shall meet the requirements of the Pennsylvania Construction Code and shall have the responsibility for administration and enforcement of the provisions of this chapter.
B.
Enforcement authority.
(1)
Appointment of Code Official. There shall be appointed, by the Board of Supervisors of West Rockhill Township, a Code Official, who shall be in charge of the Office of the Code Administration of the Township of West Rockhill. The Code Official is referred to in the International Building Code as the "Building Code Official" and in the International Fire Code as the "Fire Code Official." (Note: All other chapters of the West Rockhill Township Code of Ordinances shall be administered and enforced by the Zoning Officer or Code Enforcement Officer.)

Approved inspection agencies. The Code Official shall make all the required inspections or may accept reports or inspections by authoritative and recognized inspection agencies or individuals, which satisfy requirements as to qualifications and reliability. All inspection reports shall be in writing and shall be certified by the approved authority or responsible officer of the agency or the individual when expert inspection services are accepted. The Code Official may engage such expert opinion as may be deemed necessary to report upon unusual technical issues that may arise subject to the approval of the Board of Supervisors. When required by the provisions of the code or by the approved rules, materials or assemblies shall be inspected at the point of manufacture or fabrication.
