A Township Planning Commission consisting of five members was created pursuant to the provisions of Article XX-A of the Second Class Township Code, but is now governed by Article II of the Municipalities Planning Code, Act of 1968, P.L. 805, No. 247, as reenacted and amended, 53 P.S. § 10201 et seq.

Each member of the Planning Commission shall serve for a term of four years, or until his or her successor is appointed and qualified. Original appointments of the members first appointed were fixed such that one member was appointed for one year, one for two years, one for three years, one for four years, and one for five years.
The qualifications of the members of the Planning Commission shall be as set forth in Sections 202 and 205 of the MPC (53 P.S. §§ 10202 and 10205, respectively).
The members of the Planning Commission shall serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for necessary expenses.
The Planning Commission shall have all of the powers and duties conferred upon planning commissions by Article II of the MPC, 53 P.S. § 10201 et seq.
