No pool or billiard room within the limits of the Borough of Merchantville shall be permitted or allowed to remain open for the playing of pool, billiards or any other games of any character between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m.
No person under the age of sixteen (16) years shall be allowed or permitted to be or remain in and about any pool or billiard room as aforesaid or to frequent the same or loiter therein.
It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person or persons to have for public use any public pool, billiard or combination table in the Borough of Merchantville without first having obtained a license therefor from the Borough Council.
Such license shall expire on the 31st day of December of the year for which the same is granted, and the fee for such license shall be the sum of ten dollars ($10.), to be paid to the Borough Clerk upon the granting of such license by Council as aforesaid; provided, however, that the fee for licenses granted after the first day of July in each year shall be the sum of five dollars ($5.) to be paid as aforesaid.
Said license may be revoked by Borough Council at any time upon proof of the violation of any of the provisions of this chapter or any other ordinance of the borough or of any state law; provided, however, that the holder of such license shall be given an opportunity to be heard thereon.
This chapter shall take effect upon the passage and publication according to law.
