(A) 
No person shall be Mayor unless he or she is at least 25 years of age, a citizen of the United States and a resident of the City at the time of and for at least one year next preceding his or her election.
(B) 
When two or more persons shall have an equal number of votes for the office of Mayor, the matter shall be determined by the Board of Aldermen.

(A) 
The Mayor shall sign the commissions and appointments of all City officers, elected or appointed, and shall approve all official bonds unless otherwise proscribed.
(B) 
He or she shall sign all orders, drafts and warrants drawn to attest the same and to affix thereto the seal of the City, and to keep an accurate record thereof in a book provided for that purpose.
