(A)
The City Attorney shall be a person who has been admitted to practice law in the state.
(B)
The duties which the City Attorney shall perform shall consist of:
(1)
Attend all regular meetings of the Board of Aldermen;
(2)
Advise the various City officials upon legal questions pertaining to municipal affairs;
(3)
Prepare, draft or approve all ordinances, easements, contracts and deeds of the City and other legal papers relating to officers of the City;
(4)
Appear before the Public Service Commission or other similar bodies on municipal affairs;
(5)
Travel out of the City on municipal business or affairs;
(6)
Recommend to the Board of Aldermen relative to the ordinances of the City and for revising and modernizing same;
(7)
Prosecute all municipal ordinance violations; and
(8)
Perform such other duties of a legal nature as may be directed by a motion duly passed and approved by the Board of Aldermen.
