Article I Terms of Office for Town Clerk and Tax Collector

§ 59-1 Extension of terms of office.

Pursuant to Municipal Home Rule Law § 23, the Town of Bristol hereby extends the term of Town Clerk and Town Tax Collector (if said office is not abolished pursuant to L.L. No. 3-1985[1]), from two years to four years, commencing at the January 1, 1986, term.

§ 59-2 When effective.

This article shall take effect immediately.

Article II Tax Collector Office Abolished

§ 59-3 Abolishment of office; functions transferred.

Pursuant to Municipal Home Rule Law § 23, the Town of Bristol hereby abolishes the office of the Town Tax Collector and transfers the functions of said office to the office of the Town Clerk.

§ 59-4 When effective.

This article shall take effect immediately.
