A Code entitled "New Jersey State Housing Code," promulgated
by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and establishing
standards for use in determining the fitness of a building for human
habitation or occupancy or use, is hereby adopted pursuant to R.S.
26:3-69.1 et seq. A copy of the Code is annexed to this chapter and
made a part hereof without the inclusion of the text herein.

Three copies of the New Jersey State Housing Code have been
placed on file in the offices of the Secretary of the Board of Health
and the Township Clerk and will remain on file in those offices for
the use and examination of the public.

No person shall maintain, inhabit, occupy or use, or permit another person to inhabit, occupy or use any building or any part thereof which has been declared by the Board of Health of the Township of Chatham to be unfit for human habitation or occupy or use pursuant to the provisions of Section
BH8-3b of this chapter. Any person convicted of a violation of this chapter shall be subject to a penalty not exceeding $200.

No provision of this chapter shall be construed as precluding
the enforcement of other ordinances adopted by the Board of Health
or as precluding the exercise of other powers of the Board of Health
to correct or abate nuisances or conditions adversely affecting the
public health, safety and general welfare.
