[At the 2-4-1924 ATM, by Art. 23, the Town voted to elect the Town Treasurer and Collector to three-year terms according to Acts of 1923, Ch. 66. At the 5-8-1985 ATM, by Art. 36, the Town voted unanimously to reaffirm the vote of Article 23 of the Annual Town Meeting of 2-4-1924 to elect the Town Treasurer and Tax Collector for a three-year term as accepted by their vote according to the provisions of Acts of 1923, Ch. 66, which reads: "Section 1 of Chapter 41 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out in the sixth and seventh line the word 'year' and inserting in place thereof in each instance, the words 'three years.'" The three-year term for the Town Tax Collector shall commence with the term beginning election day, May 1986, said term for the Town Treasurer shall commence on election day May 1987, and further to make the term for Town Clerk a three-year term to commence on election day May 1988.]
