A. 
Within the Department of Planning and Environmental Protection there shall be the Division of Planning and Development, the head of which shall be the Director of the Department of Planning, and Environmental Protection.
B. 
The Township Planner shall operate under the direction of the Director of Planning and Environmental Protection and shall perform such duties as required by statute and as periodically assigned.
C. 
Within the Division of Planning and Development there shall be established the following governmental units: (a) Administrative Officer; (b) Township Planner; (c) Zoning Officer; (d) Municipal Housing Officer.
D. 
The Division of Planning and Development shall:
(1) 
Review all Master Plans and Zoning Ordinance revisions.
(2) 
Examine all plot plans, subdivision layouts, site plans and building plans of new structures and additions for compliance with land use regulations.
(3) 
Review proposed projects for compliance with land use regulations and consult with architects, engineers, attorneys, planners, prospective developers and residents regarding all development within the Township.
(4) 
Prepare and supervise the preparation of reports to the approving boards, Township Council and other Township departments, when requested.
(5) 
Send a representative to attend meetings of the approving boards and the Township Council, when requested.
(6) 
Perform all such other functions and duties as required by law.
A. 
Within the Department of Planning and Environmental Protection there shall be a Division of Environmental Protection, the head of which shall be the Environmental Protection Manager.
B. 
The Environmental Protection Manager shall operate under the direction of the Director of the Department of Planning and Environmental Protection and shall perform such other duties as prescribed by this ordinance and as periodically assigned.
(1) 
The Environmental Protection Manager shall attend all meetings of the Environmental Commission and Shade Tree Commission, as well as all meetings of the Planning and Zoning Board Technical Review Committees and shall prepare reports to the various Township Boards, Township Council and other Township Departments, when requested.
C. 
The Division shall:
(1) 
Review and inspect all approved development applications to ensure compliance with all environmental conditions, as established by the appropriate Approving Boards.
(2) 
Consult with the Department Director, Township Planner and Township Engineer as necessary to ensure compliance with all matters of an environmental nature.
