Section 3.4 of the New Jersey Plumbing Code "Standards for plumbing materials" is hereby amended by the addition of wrought iron pipe standards for its use according to ASTM A72-63T and F.S. WW-P441b1953.
Section 5.2.1 of the New Jersey Plumbing Code "Types and sizes of traps and fixture drains" is hereby amended to read as follows: "A trap shall be of the same nominal size as the fixture to which it is connected. All fixture traps and closet bends to be concealed shall be of metal."
Section 9.1.1 of the New Jersey Plumbing Code "Soil and waste pipe-material" is hereby amended by the deletion of the following sentence: "The use of A.B.S. or P.V.C. plastic pipe is limited to buildings of three stories or less in height, measured from the lowest finished flooring or floor slab, unless otherwise approved by the Administrative Authority."
Sections 9.3.1-a and b of the New Jersey Plumbing Code "Fixtures" are hereby amended by the addition of type 'L' copper or its equivalent as an approved material.
Section 8.6.1 of the New Jersey Plumbing Code "Water Service Pipe" is hereby amended and supplemented to read as follows: "Every building for human occupancy or habitation shall have a separate water service. If copper tubing is used, it shall be no lighter than type 'k' or type 'l'."
Section 9.1.5 of the New Jersey Plumbing Code "Soil and waste pipe-material" is hereby amended by the deletion of the phrase "Or in this code, whichever is more restrictive."
Section 9.2.3 of the New Jersey Plumbing Code is hereby amended and supplemented to read as follows: "Pipes passing through foundation walls shall be sleeved as necessary for passage of piping. Sleeves shall be standard weight type of sufficient size to permit one-half inch clearance all around. Sleeves shall be flush with walls. In exterior walls annular space between sleeves and pipes shall be filled or tightly caulked with coal tar or asphaltum compound, lead or other approved materials. In all fire walls the annular space between sleeve and pipes and fire stopped with an acceptable, noncombustible filler."
Section 6.2.2 of the New Jersey Plumbing Code "Horizontal piping" is hereby amended and supplemented to read as follows: "Horizontal A.B.S. or P.V.C. plastic pipe (flexible) shall be supported on continuous metal or wood strips for entire length. Horizontal A.B.S. or P.V.C. plastic piping (rigid schedule 40) shall be supported at intervals not to exceed four feet.
Section 3.4 of the New Jersey Plumbing Code "Standards for plumbing materials" is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced by Section P.404.1 of the 1970 B.O.C.A. Basic Plumbing Code, three copies of which shall be on file with the Township Clerk and three copies with the Building Inspector of the Township.
Section E900 of the Standard Building Code of New Jersey entitled "Soil and Waste Pipe" and more specifically paragraph 9.1.1 is hereby deleted and amended and supplemented to read as follow: "9.1.1 Soil and Waste piping for drainage systems within a building shall be of extra heavy cast iron, unless the use of service weight cast iron is approved by the Administrative Authority, galvanized wrought iron, galvanized steel, brass, type M copper, class D lead, ABS Schedule 40 DWV, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (P.V.C.). The pipe and the fittings for each type of pipe shall comply with the specifications as given in Section E300 Table 3-4."
In addition, Section E1000 of the Standard Building Code of New Jersey entitled "Storm Drains" and more specifically paragraphs 10.2.1 and 10.2.4 shall be amended and supplemented to read as follows: "10.2.1 Leaders installed within a building, or run in a vent or pipe shaft, may be of cast iron, galvanized steel, galvanized wrought iron, cement-lined ferrous pipe, brass, copper, lead, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) complying with the specifications given in Section E3000 Table 3.4 or as accepted by the Administrative Authority" and "10.2.4 Building storm sewers may be made of vitrified-clay, asbestos, cement, bituminized fiber, cast iron, brass, copper, coal tar enamel-protected coated and lined wrought iron pipe or steel, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) complying with specifications as given in Table 3.4 or as accepted by the Administrative Authority. Threaded joints shall be coated and wrapped after inspection."
