This chapter shall be known as "Prohibition of Landfills or Dump Sites in the Town of Hillsdale."

As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
A parcel of land on which a person deposits waste, junk, garbage or other discarded materials.
The depositing of discarded materials such as waste, junk, garbage or other materials on lands within the Town of Hillsdale.
Individual, trust, firm, joint-stock company, corporation, joint venture, partnership, association, state, county, federal government or any agency thereof, municipality, commission, political subdivision of the state, school district, special district or any interstate body or commission.
No person shall cause or create a landfill or dump site on any lands within the Town of Hillsdale.

Any person who violates this chapter shall, upon conviction of a violation, be subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment in the County Correctional Institution for a period not exceeding one year, or to both such fine and imprisonment. A violation of this chapter shall be deemed an unclassified misdemeanor.
