As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
MOTORIZED VEHICLE
Only includes motorcycles, motorbikes, bicycles with motors
attached and all other motor-operated vehicles, including all-terrain
vehicles and snowmobiles as defined in N.J.S.A. 39:3C-1 et seq., regardless
of size, number of wheels or type of motorized power.
No motorized vehicle as defined herein shall be operated on
or within:
A. The Littell tracts of land (recently acquired by the borough with
the assistance of Green Acres Funding) and the Mount Arlington Landfill.
B. Three hundred feet of any privately owned residential dwelling while
riding on unimproved or unmaintained public or private lands. (For
purposes of this section only, any lot of one acre or less that has
a residential dwelling on it shall not be considered "unimproved and
unmaintained lands.")
C. One hundred fifty feet of the improved and maintained portions of
the following publicly owned tracts of land:
(2) Tennis courts, handball courts and maintained parks surrounding the
same.
(6) Mount Arlington School property.
No person shall operate a motorized vehicle as defined herein:
A. That is not equipped with proper mufflers as supplied by the manufacturer
or in such a manner as to cause a harsh, objectionable or unreasonable
noise.
B. During the hours from 1/2 before sunset to 1/2 hour after sunrise.
C. On the privately owned unimproved land of another without first securing
the permission of the landowner or his duly authorized representative.
D. In any manner which violates the standards of N.J.S.A. 39:3C-1 et
seq. or any other statute or regulation applicable to said motorized
vehicles as herein defined.
In addition to the requirements of the preceding sections of
this chapter and not by way of limitation thereof, no person shall
operate a bicycle, tricycle or other nonmotorized vehicles, or motorized
vehicle as defined herein, over or upon any of the following:
A. The concrete dock at the borough beach.
B. Within the fenced area of any municipal tennis court.
C. Within the fenced area of any municipal basketball court.
D. Within the fenced area of any municipal softball, baseball, soccer
or other athletic playing field.
E. The Mount Arlington Borough landfill.
F. Any other improved recreational playfield.

Any person violating any part of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be liable to the penalty provided by Chapter
1, Article
III.
