Every animal required to be licensed by this Chapter shall be
vaccinated against rabies by a veterinarian. Young animals shall be
vaccinated within 30 days after they have reached three months of
age, one year after initial vaccination, and thereafter triennially,
according to manufacturer's guidelines. Unvaccinated animals acquired
or moved into the City must be vaccinated within 30 days after purchase
or arrival, unless under three months of age as specified above. It
shall be unlawful for the owner of any animal required to be vaccinated
herein to fail to provide to an Animal Control Officer or any other
authority proof of current vaccination against rabies. (Ref 71-4412

It shall be the duty of each Veterinarian at the time of vaccination
of any animal to complete a certificate of rabies vaccination which
shall include but not be limited to the following information:
1. The owner's name and address;
2. An adequate description of the animal including but not limited to
such items as the animal's sex, age, name and distinctive markings;
3. The date of the vaccination;
4. The rabies vaccination tag number;
5. The type of rabies vaccine administered;
6. The manufacturer's serial number of the vaccine used, such Veterinarian
shall issue a tag with the certificate of vaccination; and
7. The Veterinarian shall make and provide a copy of each certificate
to owner who shall provide same to the City Clerk at the time of its
issuance of dog license.

The cost of rabies vaccination shall be borne by the owner of
