A. The
Board of Aldermen, on behalf of the City of Weston, Missouri, a "political subdivision" as defined in Sections 70.600 through
70.760, RSMo., as amended, hereby elects to have covered by the Missouri
Local Government Employees' Retirement System all its eligible present
and future employees and to cover such employees under Benefit Program
L-1.
B. The
City of Weston hereby elects that one hundred percent (100%) of prior
employment be considered for prior service credit in computing benefits
and contributions to the system and further elects that all employees
with one thousand five hundred (1,500) or more hours of annual employment,
who are not excluded by State law, be considered eligible employees.
C. The
City of Weston hereby elects to have the "final average salary" of
its employee members determined over a sixty (60) consecutive month
period.
D. The
City of Weston hereby elects to require four percent (4%) contributions
from covered employees.
E. The
City of Weston hereby elects the regular retirement age for all eligible
employees.
F. The
City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to deduct from the
wages and salaries of each employee member the contributions, if any,
required by Section 70.705, RSMo., and to remit promptly the deductions
to the Retirement System, together with the employer contributions
required by Sections 70.705 and 70.730, RSMo., as amended. Contributions
are to be effective July 1, 1997.
If a check that is dishonored or returned unpaid by a financial
institution is not referred to the Prosecuting Attorney or Circuit
Attorney for any action pursuant to the provisions of this Section,
the party to whom the check was issued, or his or her agent or assignee,
or a holder, may collect from the issuer, in addition to the face
amount of the check, a reasonable service charge, not to exceed twenty
dollars ($20.00), plus an amount equal to the actual charge by the
depository institution for the return of each unpaid or dishonored
instrument.

A. Any
recommendation made by the Platte County Health Department regarding
contagious diseases, the prevention of, the abatement of, or suggestions
on establishing a quarantine in the City shall also be the recommendation
of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Weston.
B. In
addition to any recommendations made by the Health Department, the
Board of Aldermen may, independently from the Platte County Health
Department, vote to enact any measures granted under Section 79.380,
RSMo., including, but not limited to, the limitation on public gatherings
and a quarantine of its citizens.
