The Mayor shall be chosen at the general election by popular ballot of the eligible voters of the Borough of Lawnside. He shall serve for a term of four years, which shall begin at 12:00 noon on January 1 following the election.

The Mayor shall have all the powers and duties provided by state statute. He shall, inter alia, see to the faithful execution of the laws of the state and ordinances of the borough, recommend to the Council those measures he deems necessary or expedient, maintain peace and good order and have power to suppress riots and tumultuous assemblies, all as provided in N.J.S.A. 40:87-31. He shall nominate and, with the advice and consent of Council, appoint all officers in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:87-16. As provided by N.J.S.A. 40:88-1, he shall preside over meetings of the Council and may, in the event of a tie, cast the deciding ballot. Otherwise he shall not vote. He may veto ordinances in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40:93-5. Such veto may be overcome by a two-thirds vote of the Council. His approval of all disbursements is required in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:87-50, except as set forth in N.J.S.A. 40:87-51.

As provided by state statute, the members of the Borough Council shall be chosen at the general election by popular ballot of the eligible voters of the Borough of Lawnside. The Council shall consist of six members. Their terms of office shall be for three years, beginning at 12:00 noon on January 1 following their election, and arranged in such a manner that the terms of two Council members shall expire at the end of each year.
Compensation for the Mayor and Councilmen shall be fixed by vote of a majority of the members of the Council in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:87-58 and shall be governed by the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40:87-60 and 40:88-3.1.

A.

(1) 
The Tax Collector shall be chosen at the general election by popular ballot of the eligible voters of the Borough of Lawnside. His term of office shall be for four years, beginning on January 1 following his election. Tenure may be obtained under the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-144, 40A:9-145, 40A:9-144.1, 40:42-1.
(2) 
He shall collect and hold all moneys assessed or raised by taxes upon real and personal property within the borough.
(3) 
The salary and compensation of the Tax Collector shall be as the Council from time to time provides by ordinance or resolution.
B. 
Additional duties.
(1) 
He shall keep such records as are required by law, including:
(a) 
Sums received each day for taxes and the names of persons on whose account the taxes are received.
(b) 
A record and account of the tax collections of the borough.
(2) 
Within 60 days of the end of the fiscal year or when so required by Council, he shall submit a full report and true statement of borough finances from the beginning of his official year, as well as a list of the delinquent taxpayers for the previous year. Two copies of such report and list shall, at the required time, be filed with the Clerk. Deposits of borough funds and additional reports to the governing body shall be made as required by law. (3) 
He shall disburse moneys as authorized by a warrant ordered by the Council, signed, numbered and attested as provided by law. (N.J.S.A. 40:87-50)
