Be it ordained by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Woodstown, in the County of Salem and State of New Jersey:
No insurer issuing fire insurance policies in this state shall pay any claims for fire damages in excess of $2,500 on any real property located within the Borough of Woodstown until such time as the named insured submits an official certificate of search for municipal liens pursuant to N.J.S.A. 54:5-12, certifying that all taxes, assessments or other municipal liens or charges levied, assessed and due against the subject property have been paid. In the alternative, the insured may submit a certified copy of a resolution adopted by the Borough of Woodstown authorizing installment payments of any unpaid taxes, assessments or municipal liens outstanding pursuant to the authority set forth in N.J.S.A. 17:36-11. Any person submitting a request for an official certificate of search for municipal liens, which search is requested pursuant to this chapter, shall specify that the search concerns fire-damaged property.
Any person violating this chapter shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $500, unless some other penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey statutes. In the event that such penalty is provided by New Jersey statutes, then the penalty shall be as provided in said statute.
