1. Whenever, in this Code of Ordinances or in any ordinance of the City
of Weatherford, an act is prohibited, is made or declared to be unlawful,
an offense or misdemeanor, or wherever in the Code or ordinance the
doing of any act is required, or the failure to do any act is declared
to be unlawful, and no specific penalty is provided therefor, the
violation of any such provision of this Code of Ordinances or of any
such ordinance shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $500 plus
costs; provided, however, that whenever a specific penalty is provided
for in this Code, said penalty which exceeds $500 or provides for
imprisonment of the defendant, then the Judge, pursuant to a jury
trial, unless waived, may order the defendant to pay a fine not to
exceed $500 and may order the defendant imprisoned for any amount
of time not to exceed 30 days.
2. Any person, firm or corporation who violates any provision of Sections
15-32,
15-33,
15-34,
15-81,
15-82,
15-83,
22-71,
22-72,
22-73,
22-74 and
22-229, shall upon conviction thereof, be fined a sum not to exceed $500 plus costs, and the defendant may be ordered to be imprisoned for any amount of time not to exceed 30 days.
3. Each day on which any violation of this Code or of any such ordinance
shall continue shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable
as such.
No penalty imposed by, and pursuant to, this Code of Ordinances,
shall interfere with the right of the City of Weatherford, also to
apply to the proper courts of the State of Oklahoma for a mandamus,
an injunction or other appropriate action against such person, firm
or corporation.
