Water mains shall be at least ductile iron class 51, tested to 525 P.S.T. or better if an engineer deems it necessary. Plastic may be used provided the material meets a four to one pressure requirement, commonly referred to as A.W.W.A. C-900 class 150 or better if an engineer deems it necessary. All water main fittings shall be cast or ductile iron mechanical joint tape.
Galvanized or (K) copper shall be used for water supply system lines inside of building which shall mean under a slab or floor also, (L) Copper shall be used for overhead, or in walls.
Galvanized, type (L) or (K) copper, SCH 40 plastic pipe may be used as service lines from the meter to the building being served.
