The water district of the City of Weatherford shall consist
of all the area within the city limits.
By virtue of the laws of the State of Oklahoma, the police power
of the City of Weatherford is hereby extended over all lands embraced
within the above jurisdiction of the City of Weatherford, the Mayor
and Commissioners, the courts and all proper officers of the city,
in fullest degree conformable to law, extends over and applies to
the entire water district above described for the protection of the
health of the inhabitants and the purity of the water supply of the
city.
All rules and regulations of the State, County and City Boards
of Health and the State Commissioner of Health and the County and
City Superintendents of Health, respectively, now in force and hereby
extended over, shall apply and have full force and effect within the
water district. All such rules and regulations that may lawfully be
made in the future shall extend over and have the same effect within
the water district, as within the limits of the City of Weatherford.
In accordance with the Charter and ordinances of the city, a
caretaker and other employees shall be appointed, whose duty shall
be to maintain as nearly as may be a continuous and complete oversight
and inspection of the water district and watershed of the city's
reservoir, and shall note any violation of the rules and regulations,
and also any cases of sickness existing within the water district
or upon the watershed, and make prompt report of the same and shall
perform such other duties as may be required.
The Mayor and Commissioners may promulgate such additional rules
and regulations as may be deemed advisable, by resolution duly published
and served as provided by law, and may by ordinance extend, modify
or change the bounds of the water district, so as to embrace any additional
lands directly or indirectly flowing or shedding into the city's
reservoir basin.
