1. No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle, except when necessary
to avoid a conflict with other traffic or in compliance with law or
ordinance or the directions of a police officer or traffic-control
device, in any of the following places:
c. In front of a public or private driveway.
d. Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant except in a parking space officially
marked.
f. Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection.
g. Within 30 feet upon the approach to any flashing beacon, stop sign,
or traffic-control signal located at the side of a roadway.
h. Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within 30 feet or
points on the curb immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone,
unless the city indicates a different length by signs or markings.
i. Within 50 feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing.
j. Within 10 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station and on
the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station within
75 feet of said entrance when properly sign posted.
k. Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when stopping,
standing, or parking would obstruct traffic.
l. On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge
or curb of a street.
m. Upon any bridge or other elevated structure upon a highway or within
a highway underpass.
n. At any place where official signs prohibit stopping.
o. In fire lanes adjacent to public and/or private property, where properly
marked, as to obstruct access to buildings for fire apparatus.
2. No person shall move a vehicle not lawfully under his control into
any such prohibited area or away from a curb such distance as is unlawful.
No person shall park a vehicle within a street in such a manner
or under such conditions as to leave available less than 10 feet of
the width of the roadway for the free movement of vehicular traffic;
and no person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle within a street
in such position as to block the driveway entrance to any abutting
property.
No vehicles shall be parked in any of the alleys in the business
district except that vehicles may be parked for not to exceed 20 minutes,
for the purpose of loading or unloading merchandise.
No person shall park a vehicle upon any roadway for the principal
purpose of:
1. Displaying the vehicle for sale.
2. Displaying advertising or displaying merchandise or other things
for sale or selling merchandise or other things.
3. Washing, greasing or repairing the vehicle except repairs necessitated
by an emergency.
In the event a highway includes two or more separate roadways
and traffic is restricted to one direction upon any such roadway,
no person shall stand or park a vehicle upon the left-hand side of
such one-way roadway unless signs or marks are placed to permit such
standing or parking. The City Commission is authorized to determine
when standing or parking may be permitted upon the left-hand side
of such one-way roadway and to have signs or marks placed giving notice
thereof.
