(a) 
The City electrician shall:
(1) 
Have the care of all electrical apparatus belonging to the City, superintend all improvements thereto, and make all necessary repairs thereon, in order that the same may at all times be in efficient working order.
(2) 
Make reports, including an account of his transactions, to the City Manager as and when required.
(3) 
Inform himself thoroughly in regard to the location of all telegraph, telephone or other electrical lines within the City, and so far as it may affect life or property, the situation and condition of all electrical appliances.

The City electrician shall approve wiring prior to the current being turned on or connected to such wiring.

(a) 
The City electrician shall inspect the wiring of any newly wired building, any changes in the wiring of any building or the wiring existing in any building where said wiring is believed by him to be in a dangerous or unsafe condition.
(b) 
The determination of what is unsafe or dangerous shall be by reference to the national electrical code.
The compensation of the City electrician shall be established by the City Manager with the approval of the City Council.
