[Amended at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. I)]
Words and phrases used in this chapter shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in Chapter 1 of the Illinois Vehicle Code (625 ILCS 5/1-100 et seq.), as amended.
No person shall stand or park a vehicle in a roadway other than parallel with the edge of the roadway, headed in the direction of traffic and with the curb-side wheels of the vehicle within 12 inches of the edge of the roadway, except that vehicles used for the transportation of merchandise or material may back into the curb to take on or discharge loads.
No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic control device, in the following places:
A. 
On a sidewalk'
B. 
In front of a public or private driveway.
C. 
Within an intersection.
D. 
Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
E. 
On a crosswalk.
F. 
Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection.
G. 
Within 30 feet upon the approach to any flashing beacon, stop sign or traffic control signal located at the side of a roadway.
H. 
Within 50 feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing.
I. 
Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station; and on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station, within 75 feet of said entrance.
J. 
Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when such stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic.
K. 
On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge of curb of a street.
L. 
Upon any bridge or other elevated structure, upon a highway, or within a highway tunnel.
M. 
At any place where official signs prohibit stopping.
No person shall operate a motor vehicle in the Village without first securing a state operator's or chauffeur's license, which said operator's license card or badge shall be carried on or about the person so operating a motor vehicle and shall be available for inspection of any authorized person as herein provided.
Any person who drives any vehicle with a willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property is guilty of reckless driving.
Unless another penalty is expressly provided by law, every person convicted of a violation of any provision of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than $750.
