The Village recognizes its responsibilities under Wis. Stats. § 106.50, as amended, and endorses the concepts of fair and open housing for all persons and prohibition of discrimination therein. It is the Village of Reeseville's declared policy that all persons shall have an equal opportunity for housing regardless of sex, race, color, sexual orientation, disability, religion, national origin, marital status, family status, status as a victim of domestic abuse, sexual assault, or stalking, lawful source of income, age, or ancestry.
The Village Board of the Village of Reeseville hereby adopts Wis. Stats. § 106.50. Any future amendments, revisions or modifications of the statutes incorporated by reference in this section are intended to be made part of this Code.
The officials and employees of the Village of Reeseville shall assist in the orderly prevention and removal of all discrimination in housing within the Village's municipal jurisdiction by implementing the authority and enforcement procedures set forth in Wis. Stats. § 106.50, as amended. The Village Clerk-Treasurer shall maintain forms for complaints to be filed under Wis. Stats. § 106.50, as amended, and shall assist any person alleging a violation thereof in the Village to file a complaint thereunder with the Wisconsin Department of Work Force Development, Equal Rights Division, for enforcement of Wis. Stats. § 106.50, as amended.
