[Adopted 1-8-1991 (Ch. 229, Art. I, of the 1991 Code)]
For the purpose of this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
MOTORIZED VEHICLE
Includes any self-propelled unregistered vehicle powered by other than human power, except automobiles, buses, farm tractors, motor trucks, snowmobiles and mopeds as those terms are defined by the Maine Revised Statutes, as amended. The term "motorized vehicle" shall specifically include, without limitation, those unregistered vehicles commonly known as "minibikes," "trail bikes," "go-carts" and "dirt bikes" and motorized bicycles, whether commercially manufactured or homemade.
No person shall operate, cause to be operated or permit the operation of any motorized vehicle:
A. 
Upon property of the Town of Windham, Maine, except motorized vehicle trails as approved by order of the Town Council.
B. 
Upon privately owned parking lots or roadways posted accordingly open for public access within the Town of Windham, Maine.
C. 
Within 200 feet of any occupied dwelling or on private property, unless the operator has obtained permission, in writing, from the owner or occupant of said dwelling or land.
Any violation of this article shall result in the imposition of a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $100 or impoundment of the motorized vehicle for a period of not more than five days, including the date of the offense. All fines shall be recovered on complaint to the use of the Town of Windham Maine.
