The discharge, firing or use of any bow and arrow for hunting
is prohibited on Township property except where a permit has been
issued for doing so upon Township property as designated by resolution
of the Township Committee of the Township of Washington. The places
designated are those in which permits issued by the Township shall
be effective, and no person shall discharge, fire or use any bow and
arrow in any other area or location in the Township. Such areas designated
for hunting are subject to change and revision from time to time by
resolution of the Township Committee as growth and development would
cause such areas to be deemed unsafe for the purpose of hunting.
Any person having made an application and having been granted
a permit may annually thereafter renew said application and permit
by a written request to the Township Administrator, which request
for said renewal shall be forwarded to the Land Trust for review and
action. Each application for renewal shall be accompanied by a fee
in the amount of $80.
All hunting permits shall be for a period of one year from September
1 of one year expiring on August 31 of the following year. Permits
shall be valid for hunting during the hunting seasons as established
by the State of New Jersey.
Any person or persons hunting on Township owned property without
the requisite permit or violating the provisions of this chapter shall,
upon conviction, be subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000.
