[Amended at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. I)]
Where the appointment of members to authorities is so stated in the Municipality Authorities Act (53 Pa.C.S.A. § 5601 et seq.), said appointment is hereby granted by the governing body, also known as the Council of the City of Hazleton.[2] Where the appointment of boards or commissions is vested in the City by statute or ordinance, such member or members shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and approval of Council.[3]

In any case where appointment to any board or commission is made by the Mayor with the advice and approval of Council, the appointee may be removed at the pleasure of the Mayor and the vacancy thus created shall be filled for the balance of the unexpired term in accordance with § 11-20.
