Maximum speed limits are established on portions of specified highways, as follows, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle, on any part of a highway where maximum speed limit applies, at a higher speed than the maximum prescribed for that part of the highway:

Any person who violates any provision of this section shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine in accordance with 75 Pa.C.S.A. (Vehicle Code) as per Section 3362(c).

1. 
The following intersections are established as stop intersections, and official stop signs shall be erected (or are ratified if previously erected) in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named highway (the stop street) in the direction or directions indicated for that intersection. Every driver of a vehicle approaching the intersection on the first-named or stop highway, in the direction indicated in each case, shall stop the vehicle as required by Section 3323(b) of 75 Pa.C.S.A. (Vehicle Code), and shall not proceed into or cross the second-named, or intersection or through, highway until he has followed all applicable requirements of that section of the law.

The following are declared to be hazardous grades, and, upon any such hazardous grade, no person shall drive a vehicle, having a gross weight in excess of that referred to for that grade, in the direction stated for that grade, at a speed of excess of that established in this section for that grade, and, if so stated for a particular grade, the driver of every such vehicle shall stop the vehicle before proceeding downhill.

Any person who violates any provision of this section shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $50. Any person exceeding the maximum speed limit by more than five miles per hour shall pay an additional fine of $2 for each mile in excess of five miles per hour over the maximum speed limit.

The following highways are established as through highways, thus authorizing stop or yield signs to be erected facing traffic approaching every intersection with the through highway except for those intersections with traffic signals, or with exceptions or modifications as indicated below. Every driver of a vehicle approaching a stop or yield sign authorized by this section shall stop the vehicle or yield right-of-way as required by Section 3323(b) or 3323(c) of the Vehicle Code,[1] as the case may be, and shall not proceed into or across the through highway until he has followed all applicable requirements of that section of the law:

1. 
It shall be unlawful for any person to ride on a sled upon any roadway unless that roadway is on a portion of a street blocked off for sledding by authority of § 15-016, Subsection 1, of Part 1 of this chapter, provided nothing in this section shall prevent a pedestrian from pulling a sled, with or without a rider, upon a sidewalk.
2. 
It shall be unlawful for any person to ride on a sled:
A. 
Upon any Township, Luzerne County or Commonwealth of Pennsylvania owned highway, except in order to cross the roadway; or
B. 
Upon any public sidewalk located in a business district, except that nothing will prevent a pedestrian from pulling a coaster or other toy vehicle, with or without a rider, upon a sidewalk. It shall be unlawful for any person to:
(1) 
Engage in roller skating or skateboarding; or
(2) 
To ride in an off-road vehicle, (not licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania); or
(3) 
To ride upon a motorbike (not licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania); or
(4) 
To propel any coaster whether self-propelled or not or other toy vehicle.
3. 
Any person who violates any provision of this section shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine not to exceed $50, and costs.

1. 
The Township of Sugarloaf Police Department, as the local police enforcement agency, will enforce speed limits on state highways according to the posted speed limits (see 75 Pa.C.S.A., Motor Vehicle Code, Chapter 33.
2. 
Any person who violates any provision of this section (exceeding state speed limits on state roadways) shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine and costs as contained in the Vehicle Code in existence in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
