The Economic Development Advisory Committee is hereby established to advise the Township Committee on issues related to economic development in the Township.
A. 
Maintain a baseline snapshot of the current state of Cranbury's businesses and industries.
B. 
Explore ways to stimulate sustainable economic growth in the Township of Cranbury.
C. 
Study and analyze various businesses, industries and professions with a view toward ascertaining the opportunities for expansion of such businesses and industries within the Township.
D. 
Collaborate with local business associations and the Middlesex County Office of Economic Development and Business Engagement.
E. 
Research the availability of and prepare applications for grants and/or funding, subject to the approval of the Township Committee, which would help facilitate economic development.
F. 
Report semiannually to the Township Committee on the state of the Township's business community with recommendations for improvement.
A. 
The Cranbury Economic Development Advisory Committee shall consist of seven persons, each of whom shall be a Cranbury Township resident and/or a business owner in the Township of Cranbury, to be appointed by the Township Committee. At least one member shall also be a member of the Cranbury Business Association or Cranbury Chamber of Commerce. The members shall be appointed for terms of two years, except that three of the seven members of the Economic Development Advisory Committee first appointed shall serve one-year terms.

B. 
The Township Committee shall designate one of its members to act as one of the seven members of the Economic Development Advisory Committee, who shall also serve as the Committee's chairperson.
A. 
The Economic Development Advisory Committee shall meet at the request of the chairperson.
B. 
All meetings of the Economic Development Advisory Committee shall be informal and shall not require a quorum or notice.
C. 
The advice, work product or decisions of the Economic Development Advisory Committee shall not be binding and shall be provided to the Township Committee on a strictly advisory basis.
D. 
No formal record or minutes of the Economic Development Advisory Committee are required, but may be kept at the request of the chairperson.
E. 
The Economic Development Advisory Committee shall have the authority, in its discretion, to request information from outside sources, including residents and members of the business community, provided that no cost shall inure to the Township as a result.
The Economic Development Advisory Committee shall report on a semiannual basis to the Township Committee on its works and the extent to which it is carrying out the purposes set forth in this chapter.
