There shall be seven Councilmen elected at large in the Borough of New Cumberland.[1]

Note: By resolution dated March 3, 1971, the Council authorized adopting a petition to the Court of Common Pleas of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, for the abolition of wards, election of Councilmen at large and increasing the number of Councilmen to seven. After appropriate proceedings, an Order of Court entered to No. 414 May Term, 1971, granted the prayer of the petition.
The compensation of each of the Councilmen of the Borough of New Cumberland shall be fixed at $75 per month, payable quarterly from the General Funds of the Borough, the said Borough having at the present time a population in excess of 5,000. Provided, however, that no compensation shall be payable for any month for any Councilman who has failed to attend one regular meeting of the Borough Council for that month.

All stated meetings of the Council of the Borough of New Cumberland shall begin at 7:30 post meridiem Eastern Standard Time or Eastern Daylight Time, whichever time is generally observed in the Borough of New Cumberland on the date of the meeting.
