There is hereby established a Senior Services Program Manager, who will directly report to the Borough Administrator and Mayor. This will be a part-time position, with up to 28 hours per week as an at-will employee.
The duties of the Senior Services Program Manager will be the following:
A. 
Act as a municipal resource to Borough senior residents age 65+.
B. 
Identify and have a reasonable working knowledge of Borough and county programs and resources for seniors:
(1) 
Identify redundancies in programming at a Borough and county level, allowing us to economically improve/increase services to our senior residents.
C. 
Promote programs and available resources to residents through:
(1) 
Existing Borough departments which serve Borough senior residents.
(2) 
Pascack Press as needed.
(3) 
Community bulletin board.
(4) 
Digital media as necessary.
D. 
Westwood's Senior Transportation Program:
(1) 
Ongoing review of current and future needs.
(2) 
Improve and expand as needed.
(3) 
Plan, budget and execute expanded program days/hour.
(4) 
Special event transportation for seniors.
(5) 
Coordinate and integrate county programs as needed.
E. 
Liaison to Borough departments servicing and providing programming to Borough's senior residents:
(1) 
Recreation.
(2) 
Library.
(3) 
Health Department (crisis planning and management).
(4) 
Senior Advisory Committee.
F. 
Act as a liaison and advocate within Borough departments for the Westwood senior population relative to:
(1) 
Programming (current and recommended).
(2) 
Infrastructure development.
(3) 
Communication.
(4) 
Program efficiencies, budgeting and resources.
G. 
Maintain an up-to-date reference file for Borough, county and state resources available to our senior residents.
(1) 
Create and update at least quarterly an online/offline resource guide for senior residents.
H. 
Knowledge of local, state and federal rules, regulations, ordinances and laws regarding seniors.
I. 
Act as a liaison and gatekeeper between the Borough of Westwood/departments and community organizations:
(1) 
Celebrate Westwood (senior specific programs).
(2) 
Clergy Council (senior specific programs).
(3) 
Westwood for All Ages.
(4) 
Senior Fellowship.
(5) 
Westwood House & Thomas J. Riley Senior Center.
J. 
Attend all necessary meetings within the Borough of Westwood and Bergen County Division of Aging.
K. 
Identify grant funding, CDBG funding and/or share service opportunities.
(1) 
Work with Borough's Grant Writer to apply and secure grant funding where reasonable.
The Senior Services Program Manager shall receive compensation as provided in the current Salary Ordinance.[1]
