§ 285-1 Definitions.

Words and phrases used in this article shall have the meanings described to them in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, as now in force or hereafter amended, enacted or reenacted,[1] except in those instances where the context clearly indicates a different meaning.

§ 285-2 Stop streets.

All of the stop streets affected by this article are listed below and heretofore have been designated as such by signs currently erected pursuant to action of the Board of Supervisors and the Chief of Police of Moore Township and are hereby continued as stop streets under this article.

§ 285-3 Proceeding into or through intersections.

All vehicular traffic approaching the hereafter specified intersections shall, unless otherwise directed by uniform police officer or any appropriately attired person authorized to direct, control or regulate traffic, before proceeding into or through such intersection, stop at a stop line, or if none, then before entering the intersection, and shall remain standing until it shall be safe to proceed.

§ 285-4 Stop signs.

The Roadmaster of Moore Township is hereby authorized and directed to maintain and replace appropriate stop signs at the intersections listed in § 285-2 and at such other intersections and places as the Board of Supervisors of Moore Township may from time to time, in its discretion, designate by amendment to this article.

§ 285-5 Violations and penalties.

Any person who violates a provision of this article shall, upon conviction, be subject to the appropriate penalties set forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 6502, for each provision so violated.

§ 285-6 Severability.

The provisions of this article are severable, and if any part, provision or clause hereof shall be held to be unconstitutional or invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect or impair any of the remaining parts, provisions or clauses.

§ 285-7 When effective.

This article shall take effect five days after its enactment.
