[Adopted 4-2-2019 by Ord. No. 2019-02]
In the event the Township declares a snow emergency, the parking of vehicles on the right-of-way of any state highway or Township road in the Township is prohibited until the snow and/or ice has been plowed or removed therefrom.
Township police officers are hereby authorized to remove from the right-of-way of any state highway or Township road in the Township any vehicle which is parked in violation of the provisions of this article when said police officer determines such removal necessary to facilitate the removal or plowing of snow or for any other lawful purpose. Such vehicle will be impounded by the Board of Supervisors until the owner pays to the Board a fine of $50 and the costs of removal of the vehicle, including towing and storage charges. If payment in full is not made within 30 days of the date of said removal, the Board of Supervisors may sell said vehicle at public sale and apply the proceeds toward payment of said fine and costs.
In the event any provision, section, sentence, clause or part of this article shall be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect or impair any remaining provision, section, sentence, clause or part of this article, it being the intent of the Township that such remainder shall be in full force and effect.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby and the same repealed.
