A.
It shall be unlawful for any person to drive any commercial vehicle or other tractor, trailer or tractor-trailer combination, having a gross weight in excess of that respectively prescribed, upon any of the streets or bridges, or portions thereof described in this section, except for the purpose of making local deliveries on said streets:

B.
Advisory weight restriction signs shall be placed on Smith Gap Road between the Eldred Township Municipal Boundary Line and Skunk Road (T610) or Mountain Drive (T-579) in accordance with the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code[1] and pertinent regulations.

C.
The Township may issue permits from movement of vehicles of size and weight in excess of the restrictions promulgated herein, but shall require security as the Township deems necessary to cover the cost of repairs and restoration necessitated by the permitted movement of vehicles.
D.
Penalty. Any person convicted of operating a vehicle with a gross weight in excess of a posted weight shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a summary offense and shall be sentenced to pay a fine of $150, plus $15 for each 500 pounds, or part thereof, in excess of 3,000 pounds over the maximum allowable weight.
