Editor’s note–Ordinance 15-049, sec. 3, adopted 11/10/15 repealed sections 2.02.031—2.02.033 pertaining to the planning and zoning commission. Prior to their deletion, these sections derived from the following: 1978 Code, secs. 2-31—2-33; Ordinance 84-163, sec. 1, adopted 12/11/84; Ordinance 03-036, secs. 1—2, adopted 5/6/03; Ordinance 07-010, secs. 3—4, adopted 2/6/07. (a) 
There is hereby established a Beaumont Youth Advisory Council to be composed of ten (10) members to be confirmed by the city council. The members shall be residents of the city and must attend one of the following schools:
(1) 
Beaumont United High School.
(2) 
Harmony Science Academy.
(3) 
Legacy Christian Academy.
(4) 
Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School.
(5) 
West Brook High School.
(b) 
The advisory council will be composed of two (2) members from each school listed in subsection (a) above.
(c) 
The members shall meet at least once per month.
(d) 
The members serve at the pleasure of the city council.

The duties of the youth advisory council shall be advisory in nature and shall consist of the following:
(1) 
Serve as the voice of the youth in the community.
(2) 
Serve in an advisory capacity to the city council regarding youth programs and activities.
(3) 
Encourage youth to learn about and become involved in city government.

Members of the youth advisory council shall serve a nine (9) month term, beginning in September and concluding in May of the following year.
