(a) There
is hereby established an animal care advisory committee of the city
to act in an advisory capacity to the city council and to the animal
care division concerning rules and regulations pertaining to the operations
of the animal care facility and to make recommendations to the animal
care manager concerning animal control by the city.
(b) Such
committee shall consist of seven (7) members composed of the city
veterinarian, the animal care manager, a representative from the city
police department, one (1) representative from an animal welfare organization,
and three (3) residents-at-large as recommended by the mayor, all
of whom shall be appointed for two-year terms, expiring on September
30th of odd-numbered years.
(c) The
advisory committee shall meet at least three (3) times a year.
