No person shall operate for recreational purposes a snowmobile,
motorcycle, minibike, all terrain vehicle (ATV), or any other motor-driven
vehicle, on or through the land of another or within 75 feet of the
land of another, without first obtaining written permission from the
property owner or owners affected, except that any such vehicle registered
for highway use may be driven on the driveway of another and on any
public way. All such vehicles must be equipped with an operating exhaust
muffler that meets or exceeds the current industry standards for sound
suppression. The off-highway use of such vehicles shall be limited
to the hours from 9:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the evening, unless
a special permit is obtained from the Select Board. The operation
of such vehicles on Town-owned property is only permitted on those
areas designated for the purpose by the cognizant authority.
Violation of this article shall be subject of a penalty of $50.
Each day during which a violation exists shall be deemed to be a separate
violation.
