(a)
The city hereby authorizes the payment of the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) for the arrest and conviction of any person or persons found guilty of committing the crime of arson within the city limits.
(b)
Such reward is a standing offer, and shall be paid out of the general fund of the city. The sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) is hereby appropriated as a contingent appropriation, and authorized to be paid upon approval of the city council.
(c)
The following notice shall be imprinted upon placards of substantial material, at least eight (8) inches by twelve (12) inches in size, placed in wooden frames under glass and posted in at least six (6) different public buildings within the city, including the city hall, the post office and the community center:

The City of Lancaster, Texas, hereby offers a reward of five hundred dollars ($500.00) for the arrest and conviction of any person or persons found guilty of committing the crime of arson within the corporate limits of said City of Lancaster, Texas. This reward is a standing offer and shall be paid out of the general fund of the City of Lancaster, Texas. |
(d)
In determining eligibility for the reward here authorized, the city council shall be the sole and exclusive judge and the decision of the city council shall be final.
