A. 
Those documents, one copy which is on file in the Village Clerk's Office, being marked and designated as the 2000 Edition of the National Fire Protection Association's Life Safety Code (hereinafter "LSC"), and all future revisions of same, be and are adopted as part of the building code of the Village of Forrest.
B. 
The LSC shall be the "minimum fire safety standard" for all occupancies (excluding one- and two-family dwellings and public schools) in the Village of Forrest.
C. 
All occupancies constructed in Illinois after January 1, 2002, as well as those that change occupancy classification after that date, must be (and should have been) constructed to meet the standards identified in the appropriate "new" occupancy chapter of the LSC. All occupancies that were in existence on January 1, 2002, must currently meet the standards identified in the appropriate "existing" occupancy chapter of the LSC (unless identified otherwise).
The following provisions shall supersede and be amendments to the 2000 Edition of the National Fire Protection Association's Life Safety Code adopted in this article:

The fines for violating any section of this article will range from $25 to $750 per day and rectification of the violation, with each day being considered a separate violation.
