Elections for municipal offices shall be held as provided by law, and in accord with such lawful regulations as may be made by ordinance by the President and Board of Trustees.

The term of elected municipal officers of the Village of Forrest shall commence at the first regular or special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Forrest held in the month of May following the proclamation of the results of the regular municipal election of the Village of Forrest.
