[HISTORY: Adopted by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Forrest as §§ 16.03, 16.08, and 16.09 of the 2008 Municipal Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
A. 
No semi cab or tractor and trailer, semi cab or tractor alone, semitrailer alone, or other truck or vehicle having a gross weight in excess of, or load capability in excess of 10,000 pounds, shall be parked upon any street within the Village of Forrest, Illinois, within any residential district, except temporarily to make deliveries or pickups at businesses or residences and except for streets adjacent to or abutting commercial, or industrial property or businesses.

B. 
Posting. The Village, may at their discretion, post the four highway entrances to the Village of Forrest with signs stating "No Truck Parking in Residential Areas."
C. 
Penalty. Any person violating any provision of the parking restriction provision § 460-1A shall be penalized an amount of $500 per occurrence. Each day the violation exists shall constitute a separate occurrence.
D. 
Towing. Any vehicle parked on a Village of Forrest street in violation of this chapter may be towed by the Village of Forrest officials or their agents, and the cost of towing and storage shall be charged to the owner of said vehicle, and shall be collectable as a lien against the vehicle prior to release of the vehicle to the owner thereof. Any official of the Village of Forrest, their agents, or police officers having reason to believe that the weight of a vehicle exceeds the allowable weights specified above, may cause the vehicle to be weighed, and may require that the vehicle be driven to the nearest available scales.
A. 
It shall be a violation of this chapter to:
(1) 
Park on the wrong side of the street. All parallel parking must be with the flow of traffic: i.e., westbound parking is allowed only on the north side of the street, eastbound on the south side, southbound on the west side and northbound on the east side.
(2) 
Park as to block a sidewalk, a private driveway, an alley designated as a throughway or parking within 15 feet of a stop sign or traffic control device.
(3) 
Park in a handicap space without proper authorization.
B. 
Penalty. Penalty for violating § 460-2A(1) and (2) will be a fine of $50. Penalty for violating § 460-2A(3) will be a fine of $250.
A. 
No person shall park or store on any property owned or occupied by him or her any motor home, mobile home, camper vehicle, trailer or boat which is not owned by him or her or a member of his or her family. Storage by the owner of any such item shall be only in the side or rear yard.
B. 
Guests of any owner or occupant of any dwelling in the Village may park a motor home or a mobile home in the side or rear yard of such dwelling for not more than 15 days, provided the motor home or mobile home is used for sleeping purposes only during such period.
C. 
In § 460-3A and B above, if there is no access to the side or rear yard, a variance may be obtain for parking in the front of the property on a driveway, but never on a street or alley, except as described in § 460-3D below.
D. 
Under no circumstances shall any of the above-mentioned vehicles be used as living quarters. Also, under no circumstances shall any of the above-mentioned vehicles be parked on or in the street or alley overnight, unless a "short-term variance" is obtained.
E. 
Penalty. Penalty for violating § 460-3A, B and C will be a fine of $50 per occurrence in which each day the violation occurs shall be deemed as a separate occurrence.
