There shall be within the Department of Parks
and Recreation the following divisions: Parks and Recreation, together
with such other and further divisions as any from time to time hereafter
be deemed necessary and established by the Town Board. Each of said
divisions shall be supervised by an administrative officer, who shall
be a Director or Assistant Director of such division. Such Director
or Assistant Director shall be appointed by the Director of Parks
and Recreation with the consent of the Town Board and shall be in
the exempt class of civil service.
The Director of Parks and Recreation may from
time to time employ such additional persons, including such special,
technical or professional assistants, as may be within the budgetary
allowance and appropriated for such persons as may be provided for
by the annual town budget.

All employees of the Department of Parks and
Recreation shall be under the general supervision and control of the
Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation and may be removed
by him/her for cause in accordance with applicable procedures and
regulations of the Civil Service Commission.

A. There is hereby
established a Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Athletic Review Board,
which shall consist of 9 members appointed by the Town Board, appointed
for three years. A term is renewable only once for a maximum of six
years.
B. The Parks, Recreation,
Open Space and Athletic Review Board shall periodically meet with
the Director of Parks and Recreation to advise and assist him in the
preparation of plans and programs for carrying out the functions of
the Department of Parks and Recreation. Such Board shall also review
such plans and proposals for the acquisition and development of parks
and recreation lands and facilities as may from time to time be referred
to it by the Town Board or the Planning Board and make such recommendations
to the Town Board and Planning Board in connection therewith as it
deems appropriate.
C. The PROSAR
Board members may be removed upon recommendation of PROSAR and/or
at the discretion of the Town Board. A PROSAR Board member may resign
at any time by giving written notice to the Town Clerk.
