The city community center will be made available for a fee and cleaning deposit to the following:
(1) 
Individuals, for parties, family reunions, wedding-related events, wedding anniversary parties, etc.
(2) 
Nonprofit and community organizations for meetings or events.

The city community center can only be used by any individual, related groups of individuals, or organizations no more than two (2) times a month without express permission of the city council. No for-profit events such as garage sales, photo sales, or sales-related parties will be allowed without express permission of the city council. The community club will be allowed to hold their annual rummage sale in the community center.

The following rules apply to all users of the community center:
(1) 
The community center is a drug free, alcohol free, and tobacco free building.
(2) 
Nothing is to be nailed, glued, or taped to the walls.
(3) 
No items may be removed from the center.
(4) 
Do not use items belonging to other individuals or organizations.
(5) 
Bag all trash (trash bags are made available by the city).
(6) 
Clean all floors and vacuum carpets.
(7) 
Clean the kitchen and bathrooms.
(8) 
The party renting the center will pay for repairs of any damage to the community center, its tables, chairs, or any other furniture or items that are a part of the facility.
(9) 
Lights will be turned off and thermostats set to 76 degrees in the summer and 66 degrees in the winter after use.
(10) 
All doors will be locked after use.
(11) 
No food is to be left in the refrigerator.
(12) 
No DJ's or bands are allowed at parties.
(13) 
Renter may, upon request, use the four tables and chairs belonging to the city. Renter may bring their own tables and chairs.
(14) 
Closets should be empty after use. The city is not responsible for the return of any items left in the closet or community center.

No items are to be removed from the community center without express permission of an authorized city official.

The city community center can be reserved by calling the city secretary during normal city business hours. The city secretary will have a calendar with all scheduled city and city organizations events listed. All reservations will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Any non-city organization that wants to use the community center on a regularly scheduled night each month must have permission from the city council.

(a) 
The city will charge a deposit for city residents and nonresidents for use of the community center in the amount set forth in the master fee schedule of this code. Refunds on deposits after cancellation will only he allowed if the city is notified in writing of the cancellation of the reservation more than seven (7) days in advance. The city has the right to retain any deposit as liquidated damages from any renter who does not adhere to the cancellation policy and to use the deposit to repair damage or clean the facility.
(b) 
The city will charge city residents and nonresidents a rental fee for usage of the community center as set forth in the master fee schedule of this code. Electricity turned on prior to standard two (2) hours prior to the reservation time will be regarded as time used and the renter will be charged accordingly.
(c) 
The deposit and rental fee will be required to obtain the key to the community center. The city will refund the deposit within two (2) business days when the key is returned and the community center is inspected by an authorized city representative. If the city secretary or his/her designee determines that damages have occurred or the building was not cleaned properly, the city secretary will retain the deposit and report the damage to the city council where the council will determine if all or part of the deposit is to be returned or if additional payments for damages will he required.

(a) 
The following organizations may use the community center without paying the rental fee and deposit:
(1) 
Gunter Community Club.
(2) 
Gunter Area Chamber of Commerce.
(3) 
Gunter Area 4-H Club.
(4) 
Gunter Area Boy Scout or Girl Scout organizations.
(5) 
Gunter Youth Association.
(6) 
Gunter ISD and school-related organizations.
(7) 
Gunter Parks Foundation.
(b) 
However, such organizations will still be held responsible for the cost of any damage caused to the community center or for charges for failing to clean the community center after use. Any organization that refuses to pay for such damage or cleaning will be required to pay the rental fee and deposit prior to any further uses of the community center.
