A. Notwithstanding
any provision of the Euless Development Code or any other city ordinance,
code, or regulation to the contrary, the owner or operator of any
sexually oriented business or any other person commits an offense
if he erects, constructs, or maintains any sign for the establishment
other than one primary sign and one secondary sign, as provided in
this section.
B. A primary
sign may have no more than two display surfaces. Each display surface
must:
(1) not
contain any flashing lights;
(2) be
a flat plane, rectangular in shape;
(3) not
exceed 75 square feet in area; and
(4) not
exceed 10 feet in height or 10 feet in length.
C. A secondary
sign may have only one display surface. The display surface must:
(1) not
contain any flashing lights;
(2) be
a flat plane, rectangular in shape;
(3) not
exceed 20 square feet in area;
(4) not
exceed five feet in height or four feet in width; and
(5) be
affixed or attached to a wall or door of the establishment.
D. A primary
or secondary sign must contain no photographs, silhouettes, drawings,
or pictorial representations of any manner, and may contain only:
(1) the
name of the establishment; and/or
(2) one
or more of the following phrases:
(B) “Adult bookstore or adult video store.”
(E) “Adult motion-picture theater.”
E. In addition
to the phrases listed in Subsection (d)(2) of this section, a primary
sign for an adult motion-picture theater may contain the phrase, “Movie
Titles Posted on Premises,” and a primary sign for an adult
bookstore or adult video store may contain the word “DVD’s”.
F. Each letter
forming a word on a primary or secondary sign must be of a solid color,
and each letter must be the same print-type, size, and color. The
background behind the lettering on the display surface of a primary
or secondary sign must be of a uniform and solid color.
