Each vehicle constitutes a separate offense as does each day the vehicle is offered for sale in violation of this article. Any such violation shall constitute a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine in accordance with the general penalty provision found in section 1.01.009 of this code.

It is the intent of the city to regulate the sale and offering for sale of motor vehicles, motorcycles, boats, trailers, and farm and construction equipment within those areas zoned residential within the city.

(a) 
All motor vehicles, motorcycles, boats, trailers, and farm and construction equipment that are offered for sale and/or have signs on them offering them for sale must belong to the occupants of the residence at which they are parked.
(b) 
This requirement applies regardless as to whether the vehicle is parked in the city street or on private property.

If a registration check conducted through the state department of motor vehicles indicates the vehicle belongs to someone other than the resident, a citation for violation of this article shall be issued to any adult residing at that residence.

If the resident can document through receipts that he or she has purchased the vehicle and has registered it through a department of motor vehicles, that will satisfy the requirements of this article. Farm and construction equipment requires a bill of sale only.
