HUD-code manufactured home.
A structure, constructed on or after June 15, 1976, according to the rules of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), transportable in one or more sections, which, in the traveling mode, is eight (8) body feet or more in width or forty (40) body feet or more in length, or, when erected on-site, is three hundred twenty (320) or more square feet, and which is built on a permanent chassis and designed to be used as a dwelling with or without a permanent foundation when connected to the required utilities, and includes the plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical systems. The term does not include a recreational vehicle as that term is defined by 24 CFR section 3282.8(g).
Mobile home.

This section applies only to zoning districts other than the MHD manufactured home district, as established in the zoning ordinance in chapter 14 of this code. After November 1, 1969, it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to leave parked or to maintain on any tract or parcel of land within the limits of the city any mobile home. In the event that a residential dwelling is damaged or destroyed by fire or other calamity, the city council may grant a specific use permit for the parking or maintenance of a HUD-code manufactured home on the homeowner’s property for use as a temporary residence of the homeowner for a period of time not to exceed six (6) months on the conditions that the homeowner post a reasonable bond as set by the city council at the time that the permit is granted and that the homeowner actually occupy the mobile home. The city council may in its sound discretion grant one (1) extension of the permit for an additional six (6) months. The terms of this section shall not be applicable to a mobile home parked or maintained within the limits of the city prior to November 1, 1969; provided, however, that should such mobile home be moved, such space, parcel or tract of land shall not again be used thereafter for the parking or maintaining of a mobile home.
