The Standard Housing Code, 1997 edition, published by the Southern Standard Building Code Congress International, Inc., and the whole of such code, save and except such portions as may be amended in this article, is adopted and incorporated as fully as if set forth at length in this section. The provisions of the Standard Housing Code shall be controlling in the use, maintenance and occupancy of all dwellings, dwelling units and/or structures within the city. One copy of such code is on file in the office of the city clerk.

Whenever the term “building official” is used in the Standard Housing Code adopted in section 22-541, it shall be held to mean the city’s chief building inspector.
